Hi all, my first post here on CGN.

I own an early (pre-1970) Mossberg 500A 12ga with a broken firing pin.
The pin I am looking for does NOT have a spring, and has been described as an early "ROCKER" type firing pin.

The folks at western gun parts weren't a lot of help, as they said that there were several types of pins in their inventory, and they "needed a part number".

Below are a couple of pics of what I've got, any help on this is greatly appreciated!

Excellent news gunrunner, Thank you so much!
I start my nightshift on Monday night, and will be on shift for 5 nights, so no huge rush.

Post pictures when you find it!

FYI Bump!

FYI to all:
I took some measurements and had my bro do a CAD drawing of the firing pin for early Mossberg 500A's.
Western Gun Parts was able to use the measurements I gave them to find the correct pin, a slightly different design, but it works!

The part number they gave me for the new pin is: 7427

The important dimension is the 1.19" (or there abouts) as the rocker block is different on early Mossbergs.

(BTW: many thanks to gunrunner100 for shipping me a complete bolt, and allowing me to return it to him as it has the newer, different pin and rocker block)

The new pin varies slightly in design, but has the correct dimension I mentioned earlier.
(apparently, the early firing pin design was only used in the first few years of 500A production, as it is inherently weak and failure prone... my dad originally purchased this particular shotgun in 1964)

I hope my experience on this will help other CGN's with the same problem... pics are below!

Cheers!
Dave
