Hiya all!

I would like to know what kind of powder would you use with 158gr.swc .

I have a Ruger Blackhawk in .357mag, so any suggestion will be consider.

Thanks in advance for reply!

It all depends how much speed you want out of it, mind you if it is a lead semi-wad cutter you will want to keep your speeds down to avoid leading. I have had good luck with Alliant Bullseye, Hogdon Tite-group and recently IMR trailboss. All of my loads are kept below 1000 fps. If I want more oophf I will use H110 or Win 296 with a gaschecked or jacketed bullets. By the way I stick to .38 spl brass for all of my light loads. I have found you have to use more powder to obtain similar velocity in magnum brass and they aren't as accurate for some reason (inconsistant ignition due to more air space is my assumption). I hope this helps, loading data for all of the powders I have used is listed is on line.

If you are looking for a cheap powder to load .357, see if Higginson's have any more of the H-108. It's faster burning than H-110, so the top end is lower, but still a fairly decent powder for heavy loads.

HOWDY- UNIQUE is the go to powder for most lead loads medium to fairly hot loads. Winchester 231 or HP 38 meter through the various measures better and work well. For those good ole RHINO roller loads winchester 296 or Hodgen H 110
Try HP 38 to start with but DO make sure NOT to double charge the cases as it will only be a small amount of powder in the case.
