Need Reloading Data for 6.5x54R Russian Vostok Biathlon Rifle

Hello friends,

I have recently purchased a vintage Russian Vostok BI-6.5 biathlon rifle in 6.5x54R caliber. It is essentially 7.62x54R Mosin necked down to 6.5 mm. Ammo in this caliber is almost non-existent, but I have a bit of original brass and dies. So, I am going to reload.

Has anybody had any experience with reloading for this caliber, 6.5x54R Russian/Vostok? I would appreciate any info or advice as to bullet/powder reloading data.

I used to own one of those and it shot extremely well. I used 6.5x55 data with very good results. That was a long time ago. I hope it works well for you.

Have you measured the bore???? Mine measured out at .268 diameter and shot bullets intended for the 6.5 Carcano round best. Those bullets were very hard to get back then and I ended up selling it to a fellow in Washington State that was into swaging his own and had a hard on for the rifle.
