Hi Folks,

Never have owned a Pellet gun - Just Handguns and a few rifles. Long time shooter. I just picked up a new Gamo 1250 Big Cat 177 for CHEAP sale price, great, accurate, powerful rifle with a crap scope... That's ok, I wasn't expecting much. I want to get something better for it with a 3-9 / 4-12 magnification or so, but I don't want to put one of my Leupolds on a 100 dollar gun!
What's the best "bang for buck" scope for this thing? I do NOT need bells and whistles/features... Just something clear that will hold zero AND stand up to the Gamo jolt! I have never bought a cheap scope but I understand some good products are coming out recently...

Thanx guys for any help you can provide...

I have a BSA AR312X44 on one of my PAL rated springers and it seems to hold up fine.

A good mount is key.

The 2 brands I like for air rifles are, Hawk, or Leapers. Leapers are the called air gun Leupolds or Chinese Leupolds.
Personaly I prefer Hawk Scopes for air rifles, they are springer rated, adjustments work as well as on my Leupolds or mabey better.
Lots of air gunners also like bushnell.
What ever you get be sure it is parallax adjustable so you can focus the scope at air rifle distences.

I will chime in to back up the Bushnell banner 4-12x40 with the adjustable objective. It dials down to 10 yards and is nice and clear even at full magnification.
I havent had a banner break on an air rifle yet but if it does just send it in to the GTA and they will replace it for you.

Although if i were in your shoes and your leupold is springer rated i would prefer it to anything else. Leupold makes a fine 4x scope that would be great on your rifle.
I have an HW85 and the scope i currently use is an old 4x tasco bantam which is actually a shotgun scope. Its very clear so it does the job.
