Need scope recommendations! Savage MKii - .22lr

Alright I will be getting the gun in the next week, and need a scope.

Before now I have been using a Bushnell Banner 3-9 with good results, and I have never used anything with AO so not sure if I really need it.

I will be shooting at 50m and out to 100m on occasion, but mostly 50m.

I am thinking 3-9 would be alright, but maybe a little more for 100m would be nice. I am also not against a fixed power if it makes a difference.

Now the fun part, the budget!

$150 taxes and shipping in is what I am hoping for, but $200 max.

In another thread I said I put the Redfield 4-12x40 (~$230 with the Le Baron club card) on my Savage BTVS.

As expected, shooting at <50M at higher than 8x magnification the focus is not sharp since it's a non adjustable focus optic.
(so the 12x is overkill if all you plan on shooting is sub 100m)

At 75m+ the scope is super sharp at full magnification.

I have a Banner 3-9x on another .22 LR and its a reasonable magnification (depending on the model)

The Redfield is definitely better made and clearer than the Bushnell Banner. They make a couple of other models (2-7x and 3-9x) for under $200.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find better optics for the money.

So far I am looking at a Bushnell Trophy 3-9 or Vortex Crossfire 3-9 both are lacking the AO option.

Shooting at 50m I am not sure how much difference it will make?
