rifle:M14
scope mount: M14.ca 's CASM Gen II, Aluminum
scope: could be Vortex 4-12x40 or 3-9x40
what ring should I go?
Aluminum or Steel?
M14.ca recommends using Aluminum ring since the base is aluminum,
does steel ring mounted on aluminum does some damage?
while some common sense is, since screws are always steel, with steel screws screwing the aluminum hole....it wears out quickly and easily get stripped...
so, question 1, Aluminum or Steel?
then second, what to buy ? the sales man in the store where I am to buy the vortex sceaope suggest vortex ring....since vortex goes with vortex, and it is not cheap, aluminum $80,
but I might like
Burris Signature Zee Rings
$55 cabelas.ca; use of Burris’ patented Pos-Align Inserts system
$60 wholesalesports
or
Leupold PRW RINGS
$65 wholesalesports Permanent Cross-Slot Stability. Uses QRW bases or other Picatinny-style rails.
$60 cabelas.ca
Leupold QRW RINGS $80 match up with any Weaver style cross-slot base
......
some ideal ? Thanks!
