Hi all, I am looking for someone to shorten my father's Cooey 840 12 gauge barrel. He had left this Cooey in the corner of his shop, barrel down in an old gun scabbard. Needless to say I am trying to save this shotgun. The end if the barrel is rusted and pitted badly. I want the barrel shortened to do away with the unsafe portion of the barrel. I am looking for a gunsmith or machine shop that can do this for me. Yes, I have a hacksaw and a pipe cutter, but I want this done nicely and pass it to my son one day with the story of how it came to be. I also prefer to have this done soon. Also need a new front bead sight installed. Please and thanks everyone in advance for your help.

Hacksaw would be the ticket if you did do it yourself using a file to finish the cut. But then you'd still need a hole drilled and tapped for the bead.
Any gunsmith should be able to do it easy enough if they have a suitable bead.
What kind of bead do you want? Where are you? Edit ( Edmonton got it....
