Yes, one of my friends has the latest toy on the block, the Beretta CX-4.
And he asked me if I had some recipes he could easily duplicate, using 124gr. bullets and mixed brass.
He just bought a fully equipped Lee Pro-1000, complete with the new bullet feeder and I had the privilege to tear it down, clean it and set it up. Now it works textbook perfect.
He needs a recipe that will not allow double charges (he's a rookie).

First, let me say that I don't have a 9mm (it's just too small!) gun. But taking a quick look in my Lyman manual shows a 125 gr. jacketed HP using Blue Dot at a starting load of 6.3 gr. and a max load of 7.1 gr. that is a compressed load (at 7.1). I would think that if it is a compressed load at 7.1 gr. it would still be pretty full at say 6.7 gr. and not allow an accidental double charge. I'm sure there are other powders that fill the case close to that but that is the only one that I saw listed in the Lyman as a compressed charge at max load.

Hope that helps point you in the right direction.

For a Newbie Unique is a good powder for the 9MM. You can't double charge a load with this powder, case is to small. Try 4.7 gr Unique under your 124/125 gr jacketed bullets. Load will make IPSC/IDPA power factor and is a solid shooter in my nines.

I should add Unique is a good powder with the 9MM.

Take Care

When I loaded for 124gr Frontiers I used 6.4gr of HS-6 and 6gr of Power Pistol, never had a problem (with 1000 rounds).

Now I shoot 138gr and 5.5gr of Power Pistol
