Havent seen much feedback on Althon. Seems like a decent company. Looking to keep the Magnification (3x15 ish) but also need big objective lens. (40-55). Also need to have long range turrets to reach out to 800-1000 yards. Thanks in advance!

I would not buy a Vortex anything unless you like sending your scopes in to get repaired. Best to have a couple spares if you have a Vortex.

I have a gen 1 Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15x50. It sounds like what you're looking for. I've been very happy with mine for a few years now and the gen2 has upgraded turrets, but is otherwise the same.

Just shot my Vanguard with a new Argos HMR out to 200m, nice scope overall. It's the 2-12x42 model and a great midrange optic quality and price-wise.

Have the athlon ares and vortex pst gen 2.the athlons aperture and focus dials are easier to turn.vortex paralax is more exact and glass is clearer.had the vortex 4 years not a problem and it was the display one for 400 off.but they are both good and track well, just vortex glass isn't as dark for me as well as better felt eye relief.

Have had great luck with my Vortex Viper HSLR, and Viper PST scopes I've had.the cheaper Vortex I have had on rifles I've bought were junk. Just ordered a gen 2 Ares BTR for a rifle I'm throwing together based on what I've read and feedback from others.
