Need some advice on sks-d

I remember a long time ago there were a bunch of the SKS Hunter' D's floating around. They were definitely cheaper then the regular commercial SKS D, one thing was they has a shorter barrel, only 18.5 inch Im pretty sure. They did not have the propper AK mag catch either. Anyone see/remember those? I never seen one for sale since..

They were M models or MC-5D. Some were nice military modified examples and others were quick and dirty for US market I believe. I have one of each of the M style models with no bayonet or lug. They are pretty finicky with mags unless you modify them to fit better.

They are both fun for different reasons, I will never sell my D ... But SKS's are the least fun of the available surplus X39 guns

Dilligaf: I am dying to know more about this last comment of yours! What am I missing, to what degree and in what way? Hopefully you will tell us in
a detailed report on your collection of X39 rifles.

So far the Vz52/57 is the most fun shooter of the bunch. Sunday weather permitting im hitting the range. I have way too many rifles that I havent shot yet... lol...
