So as I am patiently waiting for my Rpal approval I have started the search for what I would like to get first.

I think I will start with .22Lr rifle as ammo is cheapest.
So I was thinking a Savage mark 2? anyone have any thoughts? I like bolt action mostly due to the whole feel of them I dont really know why. If went semi auto I would think a ruger 10/22?

As for my first restricted I was thinking i might get a russia Tokarv, my grandparents were orginally from russia/gernamy so I kind of like the idea of that? thoughts? or i was looking at the norinco tok knock off in the 9mm?

anyone have any other thoughts? I wanted a GSG 1911 so i could share ammo with the rifle but with the wife being pregnant money is getting a wee bit tight again.

thanks

I have a GSG 1911 .22 and it is a fun pistol to shoot however i had to work out issues with reliability at the start. The slide and frame are coated in a kind of paint finnish that had to wear off or be sanded off in order to increase reliability. Overall, I really like it now as i can train with the 1911 platform for cheaper.

My brother has a Ruger mark 3 .22 and that pistol ran nearly 100% from day 1. Great gun but personally I don't like the look of it. Near the same price of a GSG. Around $400. This would make a great first pistol. Any .22 from ruger would.

I also love my rugger 10/22 because of the good reliability and decent accuracy out of a reasonably priced rifle.

All three get my personal approval. i have no experience with any bolt .22s.
