Well, I have my shotguns and almost all the pistols I want so the next purchase is an AR Type rifle I can perhaps one day use in 3 gun Competitions

I realize I know F_all about them other than I like the Looks of NEA-15, and the Stag Arms 3GL.

Can You give me a brief break down of what XCR ACR AR etc are all about.

Cheers

In a nutshell, they are rifles which have a popularity and price in Canada which is not comensurate with their following in the USA because the AR is restricted in Canada, so people go @pesh!t up here over rifles that can be shot places other than approved ranges.

Most are good rifles, but do not have the accessory options of 50+ years of design perfecting that the AR15 has.

If you only shoot at ranges, forget the rest and buy an AR15. If not, then buy whatever feels best when you demo them. Try before you buy is my advice.

If your building or buying a rifle to compete in 3-gun forget about all the add on crap of lasers, lights, and rails everywhere. There is a big difference between a "competition" gun and a "fighting" gun. Build for reliability, accuracy and speed.

Pay close attention to details and buy QUALLITY components. Ignore all the tacticool crap and build a simplicity based gun(KISS). Spend your money in the right places and you won't be dissapointed. If your going to run an optic try a few different(Other peoples setups) first...lots of good options avail. buy what works for you and forget the "latest fad" must haves, again Quallity is key

Finally...build and learn then shoot the ever livin Hell out of it:)
