Need some choke tube help

Hello guys,

I just picked up a new shotgun and 5 chokes were included. I got the following

Full-lead only
Imp Mod- lead only

Mod-steel only
IMP cyl- steel only
cyl- steel only

So why are some stamped steel only and some for lead? On my other shotguns the chokes don't specify steel or lead?

The ones marked 'steel only' are probably referring to the fact that the constriction marked on the tube (eg:MOD) is correct with steel only. These tubes will pattern differently ( more open) with lead shot because lead is malleable. Do not use steel in Full or Improved Mod, because steel shot won't compress this large amount the choke tube can be damaged internally or swaged into the barrel threads making it nearly impossible to remove.

Thanks for the help Ashcroft!! Im just used to having a Mod choke in my gun and shoot everything in it.
