So today I decided to take off the grip retainer on my CSA VZ58 so I could use AK grips. So I grind it off, obviously the trigger guard is going to be flopping around now so I drilled and tapped the trigger guard and used red locktite and a set screw to fasten it to the receiver. All good. Now my question is, when i took off the grip retainer, the cylindrical piece that was holding the trigger leaf in place was welded to the grip retainer. Well its obviously ground flush now as you can see in the photos and I want to make sure that it doesn't just fall out. Im wondering if that part is drilled and tapped into the receiver and then welded or if the weld I ground out is the only thing thats holding it in there. Ive tried pushing it out but it won't budge. The part I'm referring to is what the pen is pointing to in each of the photos. This is my SHTF rifle and I wanna make sure everything is 100%. Thanks for your help in advance.
