Need some feedback about Leupold Optics.

Where are you hunting? If your location is dense bush or very hilly terrain where distance shots are not the norm, I would get something in a lower power range to facilitate a faster sight acquisition and greater field of view. If you're hunting on the plains or high north where flat terrain or long range shots are common, stick with something under 12 power. In either case, I wouldn't suggest a fixed power when you can have the benefit of a variable power optic.

I've got a VXII 3x9 on my primary hunting rifle. After the range season, it's set on 4 and stays there. Great scope for the money, even better warranty.

For general hunting it's hard to go wrong with the old M8 4x or the new FX 4x. I've used the old M8 several times and if push came to shove it would be my first choice of general big-game scope. Light, relatively compact, bright and idiot-proof (because it will never be on 9x when you're wandering through the bush because you forgot to zoom it out after you left the range). Pretty nearly impossible for Mr Murphy to mess with you when you're hunting with a fixed 4x scope. What more could you want?
