So im kind of lost in what i should do. I have a bcl102 rebareld in 6.5 creedmoor and i need a optic. These are the parameters ffp, no higher than 6x on the low end, illuminated redical, milrad, 30mm, i wanted to stay at or under $2000. I was set on the vortex pst but i have heard some bad firsthand experience and this has made me doubt my choice. Any ideas ?? Should i just get the vortex and roll the dice?

What are you looking for on the top end, magnification-wise? And why 30mm over 34mm, weight consideration? 2 scopes that I've had (or have) and think are a good fit on that type of rifle are the Nightforce SHV 4-14F1 and the Bushnell LRTSi 3-12. Both are ffp, illuminated, milrad and 30mm. I prefer the G3 reticle(Xmas tree type reticle) in the Bushnell (and currently have one on an M14, one on a .22 and am putting another on a 6.5 Stag-10) but the NF was a very solid scope. My ideal scope for a 6.5 AR-10 type rifle would be either the Leupold Mk5 3.5-18 or the NF 4-16 ATACR. Might still end up getting another Leupold.

I like the 5x25 of the vortex but im not set on it. I have seen the g2 redical but not the g3 but i do like a Christmas tree style over straight mil dot. The only reason for 30mm is i have a nice mount and if i go 34mm its another $300 ish to get a onepeice mount. I will look at the shv and bushnell but i think i would like a bit more top end magnification.
