Hi all, a bit out of my depth here on the knowledge end so hopefully some members can help me out.

I bought a bit of a mixed goods just listed as "Gun Parts" a while back, finally got around to going over it and turns out I got more or less an entire A.H. Sterlingworth shotgun, minus the barrels and stock (sort of). What remains of the stock is basically just up to the pistol grip, my guess is someone at one point decided to make their own "Mad Max special" and eventually got spooked and tossed the barrels and stuffed the rest of the parts in a grab bag.

The gun is marked on both sides of the receiver with just "Sterlingworth", the fore-end metal appears to have been marked "Model 1911"
The water table also shows:
"PAT'D DEC. 2 1902"
"AUG 16 1904 - AUG 1 1905"
"OCT 17 1905 - JAN 16 1906"

Serial is around the 60,8xx range.

Other than missing the barrels the only other problem is one of the split-end screws that goes into the pivot point is broken, one half of the notched end is broken off.

So, what exactly have I got here? From some quick searching it looks like an AH Fox Company produced "pin gun"? What gauge would this have been made in? There is no caliber marking and the only hint is some clear circles on the breech-face that measure just under 0.90" - 12ga? What are the chances of finding a replacement barrel set or stock? Haven't checked with WGP yet but I am within driving distance, not sure if it'd be worth it to redo the gun at this point or just part it out.

Pictures to follow if needed

It’s from around 1912, 2 years after the Sterlingworth was first introduced. It’s a 12 ga. With barrels and a proper stock, and in working condition the gun would be worth somewhere between $300 and at best $1000. IMHO you have a collection of parts, some broken. I wouldn’t spend a moment imagining you could return it to be a working firearm.
