Need some help identifying the chokes on my SXS

Like the title says, I need some help identifying the chokes that are on my SXS. i figure the little stars on the barrel have something to say about the choke size but damned if i have any idea what they mean. The shotgun in question is a spanish Ibar supreme if that helps.

should be full/mod.I believe the 18.5 is the internal diameter of the barrel. One star should be full, 2 star should be mod.

Your 12 gauge 3" ( 12-76 mm) chambered gun has nominal bore diameters of 18.5 mm or 0.728" - pretty much standard for European 12 gauges.

Choke on the left barrel is 18.3 mm or 0.720" ... about .008" or roughly Improved Cylinder. ( Nominal 12 ga. I/C = .010" )

Although your photograph is good, the right barrel marking is indistinct, I assume because of wear.... but best guess is that it may have read 18.0mm or 0.708" approximately 0.020" choke or Modified. One of the more typical choke combinations
for double barrel field guns.

The correct way to accurately determine dimensions is with a bore gauge (micrometer) - and the optimum way to determine actual choke performance is by patterning.

x2 Who knows if somebody opened the chokes unless you measure and test.

Yep. The stamped dimensions were those in place when the gun left the factory.

Who knows what modifications may have occured in the interim.
