There are not lots of Springfield rifles floating around in Canada - they are relatively uncommon.
Yours has been sporterized, of course, and any value as a collector's piece is long gone.
Springfield made M1903 rifles with a serial number under 800,000 may not be safe to fire. Yours is above this. If it is a good shooter, enjoy it.

I have an 03 with the pederson cut out. It was bubba'd as well, but I have scrounged most of the parts to restore it. If you are interested ram-line makes a synthetic stock, feels cheap but i find it comfortable as well redfield makes a one piece base for the 03 which accepts leupold STD rings.

Still, there is enough here for a restoration, if that's the way you want to go. The problem is that the major suppliers of genuine Springfield parts are all in the US. There could be problems importing some of them, but I really don't know about this.

If you can arrange for someone to bring the parts in for you, Springfield Sporters has the metal parts and they may have some wood as well. This rifle would properly have used the original straight stock; the pistol-grip stocks started coming in in the 1920s.

Whatever. It's a Nice Toy, friend, a very nice toy.

Thanks, I was thinking of just reblueing it and replacing the recoil pad as it is falling apart. But now I might actually get into doing a complete restoration now that I know it is possible.
