A friend of mine has acouple of older guns we hope someone can help us with. The first one all we can find on it is J.C. Higgins 12ga. Model 66 the second one all we can find on it is London Armorys Company 1861. If you have any idea how old they would be or what they might be worth let me know. THANKS.

J C Higgins 12 ga. Model 66 & 1861 LACo

According to the info in my older " Blue Book" the J C Higgins Model 66 was made for Sears by High Standard and MAY have been their Model 66 ( for which I find no listing). If this is a plain, Field grade pump it was probably a Flite King.
The 1861 dated London Armoury Co. sounds like it may have started life as a .577 Enfield percussion muzzle loader ( possibly for export to the Confederate Army). If it is now a breech loading shotgun it may have been converted to .57 Snider and subsequently smooth bored to 24 gauge. Blue Book values bear little or no relationship to current Canadian fair market values. Pics of the 1861 LACo. firearm would help ID it. Kayceel
