Hi all,

Got an opportunity to buy a ruger P89 stainless. I don't know alot about ruger pistols...is there anything i should look for or be concerned with?

Thanx!!!

Don't pay too much for a used one, new ones are around $600.
Nothing really wrong with them at all....solid, reliable, feel good with hogue monogrips (kind of blocky with the factory grips), trigger's are pretty bad like all ruger firearms, but for the $$ they are decent pistols.

I have had a stainless P89 decock only for several months now. Has performed flawlessly. It is big and bulky compared to some others, but that is what I like about it. Indestructable and as accurate as I can shoot it. I paid $580 new - Wolverine Supplies.

Ruger is good at wheel gun and its rimfire pistol but certainly not a centerfire pistol. I have shot a P85 and P89 and they are very reliable. However why Ruger cannot become a mainstream pistol that everyone looking for? simply it is too bulky and cannot point naturaly. But there are also Ruger fans enjoy Ruger pistols. Try some more other guns before you make decision is the best investment. Buy is easy but sell may not be the same story.
