I am looking for a specific lever action rifle, does anyone know where I can find one that meets my spec, or I can build to spec.
I am new to lever guns as I usually hang out in the black and precision rifle section.

Here is what I am looking for:

.357 / .38 special
12"-16" barrel
Ghost ring sights
Mag tube to be as long as the barrel,
Scout scope rail.
synthetic furniture

Small loop lever if possible
Takedown is extreme bonus points
Octagon barrel would be icing on the cake, but again not necessary.

Something like this is exactly what I want:

I have only seen the mossberg monstrosity in my travels, and would like another option, especially in .357/.38

Thanks

Perhaps a cost effective method would be to trick out a Rossi Ranch Hand? My local CT has one in stock in .357 on the shelf for $549.

Not a bad idea on the ranch hand. I will take a look.

I find it hard to believe that a gun like this isn't being made by anyone.
other than the mossberg thing...

I have seen pictures of Pedersoli 45/70's with black synthetic stocks and scout rails but have never seen one for sale online/in person. They are expensive and in the wrong caliber anyways.

I was wondering if it is possible to put a normal synthetic pistol grip buttstock on the "monstrosity", I think it would be a whole lot better looking without the adjustable stock and could be made into a cool scout rifle. Looks like the current buttstock has one fixed piece near the action that may screw that up.

I have been resaerching for the last 6 hours... It is difficult to find exactly what I want, and still hard to build what I am looking for.

I guess a machinist is my next stop.

Rossi has rails but they are not forward mounted, they also do pistol calibres for a low price.

They come in black too if that's your thing. A few american manufacturers make drop in stocks for winchesters that are synthetic. A gunsmith might be able to combine them.

Rossi is an affordable option in pistol calibers with a 16" barrel. The only other affordable option with 16" Barrel in 30-30 is the Marlin 336Y which is available from LeBarrons. These rifles as they come would need to be customized by you. i.e xs-sights, synthetic furniture etc
