I'm a pretty avid rifle cartridge reloader and I get a great deal of satisfaction from hunting with my own reloads.

Recently I bought a Lee load-All II to start reloading hunting rounds for my shot guns.

I have a goose hunt planned for this February and I'd like to try and make my own shells.

I know that exact component selection is critical for shot shell reloading. I hope to be able to use Blue Dot Powder and Winchester 209 Primers since I have plenty of both. I'd like to use Tungsten or Hevi-shot in #2, #1 or BB. I also like the idea of using an over-shot card since my cripms are not always perfect yet.

Can any one suggest some load data, and sources for the components available in Ontario? If I can find data for the Winchester Primers and Blue Dot powder, I'll need to source the hulls, wads and shot.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

First thing you need to do is get the Lyman Shotshell Reloading book. It's the best for loads and has a steel shot section.

A source for components is your neighbour, Lowreys in Caledonia.

If you want to get good crimps every time with a Lee Load All, get some white out and place a vertical mark the crimp starter on the outside so you can align one of the crimp valleys on the top of the cartridge when you place it on the machine deck. If you place every cartridge in the same position before lowering the handle the cartridge does not have to turn into place, it is already there. The number of perfect crimps will go up. Make the line wide enough to seen and thin enough to be accurate.

I never use over the shot cards in any of my loads, not even for black powder cartridges. Use good compression formed plastic hulls like Win. AA or similar. You won't have any trouble finding a load that packs well and crimps like new.
Carry on!
