Hello all,

I have finally bought all I need to personally mod my SKS. I have a shell deflector, a green laser, scope rings, compact 3-9X42 Scope and rear reciever cover tri-base mount. I am hoping to get it all togther (A little dissapointed with NcStar's "You must file down in order to fit SKS" concept for needing a file to make it fit. Good thing I have some at my shop class) :)

I have installed the shell deflector (a slip-over sights sort of deal) and will be filing down the points on the bolt cover tri-mount.

So, my question is, how do I get my hands on the last missing piece: an SKS recoil buffer pad. I will need one according to the gent I bought the parts for this kit from, but he does not sell them. I would prefer to keep my buisness north of the border so if anyone knows a place in Canada, or has a recoil buffer to sell, please PM me or post here!

Also, tips on how to install the scope properly? And ideas? I heard someone mentioned tightening the bolt cover screws with a piece of paper under the screws, between the screw and bolt cover "wall" under the cover. Also, it has been mentioned to me "locktite". What is this?

Help appreciated!

if marstar doesn't have them in stock try sksman.com. Yes he ships to Canada, no he wont rip you off, no he wont give you a tracking number or tell you once it ships and yes sometimes it can take a while to get to you from him.

Just finished with Marstar, fast reliable service over the phone, part will be coming in about 15 days tops. Good news!

It's quite hard to find these little parts, I just hope it fits into my SKS. Another question, I have put on an NcStar Tri-Sight mount, but I cannot seem to get the bolt cover release "pin/lever" combo thing at the very back of the bolt cover to go through the hole in the mount, it's very frustrating, any advice?

Well, between jobs and school I didn't have time to finick with it (not to mention not having a file!) and I took it to my local gunsmith, I'm sure he'll make it all right as rain.

I bought the same mount and a scope combo off ebay and while I really like the idea of it it seems to have some movement issues...

I think I will be finding a solid mount like the Choakes to put on....

I have the same problem...i just made sure the notch on the pin is lined up and then hammered it through...to remove i use a punch...seems like the pin for the receiver cover is to large for the ncstar scope mount receiver cover...
