I want to buy a scope that can be used for both of my Remington 700 LTR (.223) and M305. The purpose of it will be target shooting and hunting, so the range would be probably from 100yards to 200 (or 300) yards. Of course there is a budget: around $500.

What kind of scopes would you recommend to my needs? Thanks!:D

you can't use 1 scope on 2 rifles and expect either to keep it's zero- every time you undo the rings you're going to have to re-sight it, and every rifle sights differently, even between same model and caliber- in other words, every barrel is different- split your budget (about 250) and you'll get a fairly good scope ( bushnell, not leupold) or make a choice as to which rifle you want to scope - your mount for the 305 is going to run 250 at least for a quality anyway, so i'd do the 700 ltr with a really good glass and mounts and leave the 305 iron sighted

Then I will use $500 for my 700 LTR only. I've already got the leupold scope mount and rings.

Do you have the quick release rings? I would go with a VX-1 3-9x40mm personally and spend a little extra on the quick release bases and rings for both, will have to mess with your wind and elevation a little but should stay close enough to play with both when it's not hunting season.
