I'm trying to decide between a Savage FCP-SR (brown camp accustock, 10-round mag) and a Remington 5R, both in .308. I was pretty sure I wanted the Savage (I've always wanted a bolt action with large detachable mags, and already own a few Savages that I'm very happy with), but there are some things I like about the Remington, too. (stainless is nice, interesting barrel, great reputation). In any case, I think I might need to actually fondle both rifles to make an intelligent decision. I see them in stock a few places online, but nowhere close enough for a reasonable field trip from my home in the GTA. Any ideas on where I might encounter both rifles in a gun shop somewhere in my area? To make things slightly easier, I'm heading to the Belleville area on Friday, so anywhere within an hour or so of that route would be good. Any suggestions would be great.
And I guess as long as I'm posting, I might as well ask if anyone has any first hand experience with the Savage or strong opinions either way.
Thanks.
