I came across some surplus 7.62N ammo for sale and the headstamp has ivi and 80 stamped on it, does anyone know who makes this ammo?

I don't want to get stuck with any of the Indian 7.62N that I've heard horror stories about.

During my career as an Ammunition Technician in the CF, at one time during our Sgt's course, we toured IVI facilities as part of the course. Year after year, course after course always had extremely critical comments regarding safety of the workers and the quality of the munitions produced. This was all constructive critisism. Eventually rather than upgrade operations we were suspended from touring the place. Yes the ammunition went "bang" and to the average combat arms types that was fine. Did you ever wonder why snipers were issued ammo that was manufactured by Lake City??

IVI means Industries Valcartier Industries in Quebec. The '80' is the year it was made. Reliable, but of mediocre accuracy.
"...constructive criticism...suspended from touring the place..." Even constructive criticism annoys the Socialist F**k's pets.
India is not and never has been part of NATO. Their ammo is unreliable at best.

Ivi

My 700P will print under 1" with Portugese all day but with IVI I would have to say it is in excess of 2" + @ 100 meters

Dominion Arsenals was good. The french ruined our ammo they did uprgade though as posted - its hot enough, but accuracy still not good. :(
