I have the original maroon cardboard box serial numbered to my 1914 Govt. pistol but it's very rough - literally in pieces or I would not consider this. I want to see if I can rebuild/restore it. Anyone know of someone who could do this?

Thanks,
Mike

Look for a paper conservator in your area. There should be several. Contact a local museum, ask for their conservation department, and you should be able to find a contact. I used to date a lady who was a conservator and if I remember correctly, they'll stabilize the pieces with acid free linen. Good luck to you.

We had some 100 year old sketches restored but it cost $$$ and took over 6 months. I the box has sentimental value then cost is no issue but if it is for investment then you must balance cost vs return.
