Need your help identifying a clearing rod.

Hi Guys, this clearing rod came on an 1896 Long Lee Mk.I, but I doubt it is correct for that rifle. It doesn't look British to me either, no broad-arrow or British stamps. It is 17" long and threaded at both ends.. Any ideas?

My guess would be for a Chilean M95.

To me it looks like a 1909 Argentinian or 1908 Brazillian Mauser rod.
