The M-14 is usually discussed in the Main Battle Rifle forum. You can find
numerous comments on the Norinco if you look through the older threads.

the norc m14 is a great rifle and is a great value! You might want to invest in a few goodies for it after you make the initial purchase, however. commonly at least a usgi synthetic stock is bought to get rid of the ugly norc wood chu stock. then there are a number of other small upgrades you may want to do to make it even better if you want. i love mine. x2 to APG tho...the MBR forum is where you should be asking this question.

How many other main battle rifles can you get for $400 .I was one of the fortunate ones $425 deliverd to my door from Marstar
Buy it and you will never regret it . dont buy it and you will , By all accounts the supply will dry up.And from what i have read on other threads its a more robust beast then the "real" ones made in the states , Because it is made with a drop forged reciever fashioned by a chineese chaolin monk with an old dremmel.
thats how come you see tooling marks sometimes .Its true honest.:onCrack:
Im off this after noon to play with mine.
A lot of people like to bling em up , but i think its a great rifle just the way it is but it is a preference , there is a lot you can do with them if you wish .
I even took the scope off of mine , its more fun to shoot without , (and not as heavy) :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: a couple of dancing bananas just to show how happy i am. All i want for my M14 is a nice Garand to keep it company .Just buy one and enjoy it. Much better than them black plastic toy guns more of a hand full with real hitting power . Im just goonna wait a min for the sh*t to hit the fan from the black and greenie types

Keep it stock first and just refinish the stock yourself. 5 minutes scrubbing in the bathtub, 5 minutes with some 600-1000 sandpaper, then some olive oil rubbed on (don't laugh, it's all I have!) and its worlds nicer. I'll be getting some tung oil soon and doing it right.
get a nice 5/20 mag for it and you will be all set.
