Well it looks like my High Standard needs a break as she has seen to much action since the early 60's...I will keep her as an heirloom for future generations.:)

I had a SIG Mosquito and frankly was disappointed as can be with it.:runaway: The slide sheared of some stuff and it was kindly replaced by the fine folks at Wolverine with a brand new one...Sold it

What should I go with? Something that I can get at least 6 mags for with no crazy expenses related.

Colt Woodsman?
Ruger (Mark 2 or 3)?
Another High Standard? (military frame)

Euro .22rf do nothing for me, nor do Chi-com knock offs:mad:

Let's chat about it, keeping in mind I like the old school style...

If you have any service history (PD, Armed forces, EMT) you can get both from Police Ord for a bargain.

LH

My Grandfathers and their fathers served in the Airforce, Med. Corps (Field Doc's) and Infantry....Me...I support out troops with heart, sole, mind and the occasional dollar when I can.

I will talk to my friend Kelly from SmokinGun (a dealer here) about it...He has great pricing and can tweek a Glock out very well.:dancingbanana:

I fancy your idea LH as I switched to a G22 after our blk badge course. As you may remember my 1911 (s) were not happy girls that day.

I have had all issues fixed, and they remain with me until death do us part... but I will shoot IPSC in prod. class (d) for my first year.

G17 with a .22 conversion sounds just right...How much are extra mags??? I will need at least 3.

Thanks LH...your input is always appreciated...now the question is, will it fit on a G22? if that is the case I am set...if not, I need to figure a way to sneak a G17 into the safe!

I really like the conversion idea as I am using a Glock for my 1st year of IPSC and I figure "practice like you play' makes a ton of sense.

Thanks again guys!

If you got the money to burn a S&W 41 would be nice.

I got a Ruger 22/45, I know they're popular but I don't really like them (not that fun to strip and clean, overly complicated and not particulary well made).

I've had a Browning Buckmark years ago and will likely have one again, much easier to maintain and more comfortable to shoot. The Bullseye target is nice as is the 5.5 if you want to mount a scope.

My thoughts for what they're worth.

AA conversion kit fits G17/G22:D . TSE carries the kits as well as mags but I think they are out of kits at present:( .
Its a nice addition and allows live fire training at very low cost.
Good luck
Cheers

Pitdogboy;

I'm new to gunnutz but if your looking for a .22 target pistol I have a S&W model 41 that I'm looking to unload. I spent a few years shooting in bulls eye comps but I have done that in years.

It's in real good shape.

Let me know if you are interested. I'll send pictures etc.
