You can also put the Battue upside down. It will shoot itself towards the ground instead of going up! You can also throw standards and midis upside down. My friend Richis Frisella Jr invented the Dodo Bird which I copied. You have to modify the arm so as to put the target (standard or rabbit) vertically to the arm. It is basically putting a 90 degree L adaptor for the arm. The target will flip end over end with a funny noise. When it is hit, the pieces fall like some firework display. Most shooter will shoot in front and miss!
We have not used for a while since we are completly auto now. I should get Ricky to use a few manual special targets like the Dodo Bird and the Jersey Devil. The Wonbat was also a neet target. It was a target that rolled down a PVC drainnage pipe set some 20 feet up. The target could be heard rolling in the pipe. It would then drop out unto the ground.
We have also set a 6 inch drainnage pipe under a pond with the mouth open above water. We used a wheel driven rabbit machine to send a rabbit into the pipe. It would exit looking like it came out of the water and arc over the pond.
Where is the innovation now in sporting targets?
What happenned to the Flying Squirrel?
Where are the fun targets that we keep talking about?
Why is there so much lack of imagination?
Why some trickery to dumbdown the shooter?

Henry
