Just had my first Ruger 10/22 target build to the range, and while I hesitate to say that it is a Ruger; it is in a factory Ruger stock
. The build consisted of:
Ruger branded Fajen adjustable stock
Kidd 16.5 flutted match barrel
Kidd bolt
Kidd bolt handle
Kidd 2 stage trigger
Kidd buffer
Dlask receiver
Volquartsen v-block
Custom made LOP shaft to increase LOP
The build was pretty straight forward although the fit between the Dlask receiver and Kidd barrel was TIGHT to say the least, even after heating the receiver and cooling the barrel. The only other issue was I had to open up the inletting on the stock quite a bit to make sure it was free floating. I did turn a new shaft that is used to adjust the length of pull to add an inch more adjustment.
I only had 15-20minute to test out the function to make sure it was working so I didn't have a rest, bags or my Sinclair bipod with me to shoot groups. I shot 11 rounds of SK Standard Plus, to make sure every thing was working and it worked flawlessly, cycled perfectly and the SK Standard Plus chambered fine. I had a Harris knock off in my bag and found a roll of carpet at the range so with my last 9 rounds I shot the following group, 20y and around .294".
Not the best but not bad for the only shooting 20 rounds in total.
Looking forward to getting out and putting it through its paces.
