At the Sharp End (Vol.1) (author Tim Cook)
Shock Troops )(Vol.2)
"The first comprehensive history of Canadians in the Great War in more than 40 years". "Tim Cook is the Great War historian at the Canadian War Museum as well as an adjunct research professor at Carlton University."
Two volumes $40 each. I picked up Vol. 1, (532 pages), in Sept. at the Cdn. War Museum. Vol. 2 is out now. It is very detailed and tells the story of the Cdn. infantry in an interesting way. Yesterday it was announced that Vol.2 - Shock Troops won the $25000 Charles Taylor award for non-fiction. My wife is buying it for my birthday.
