I bought a new sig p226 and went to break it in today but after my last round in each mag the slide won't lock back. With the mag still in and I rack the slide it will lock.

What do people think? Just need to break the recoil spring in?

With mine it was a break in issue. Although new Sig shooters are notorious for inadvertently riding the slide release while shooting.

If you have the newest mags they make (the shiny black ones) I have had a few issues with them. They JUST push your slide catch up. If you have ANY sort of contact to your slide catch it wont work. As previously stated by sigsauer226, all of the new shooters I train with Sigs as well have exactly this problem.

Grip for sure. I still do it sometimes on my 226. Every time it fails to lock back I can attribute it to my grip.

Grip. I have two Sigs and I do it all the time, though try and move my thumb to cut it out. I've even done this on my Glock and 1911, stupid grip! :D

Put your right thumb over the bump/knuckle of your left hand where your thumb meets your hand. This hooks your thumb out of the way of your slide release pinning it in place when you tighten your grip. This helped me to solve my grip issue.
