I used to use the Winchester XP3 in .270, 150 grain for my moose rifle and I am down to my last dozen or so. I would like to replace them as I can't find them anywhere and would like your opinion on a replacement round, they were a bit of a hotter load and worked well in my Sako and I would like to find something similar if possible. Thanks :sniper:

One of the great advantages of reloading your own ammo is once you settle on a load that works, you can load as much as you need, when you need (as long as you keep your component supply stocked). Maybe it's time to start reloading? It won't take many boxes of premium factory ammo before it's worthwhile.

Ditto. Working up my first .270 load now.

Do you have, or do they still load the Supremes in Accubonds? they were great for me.

I have 10 XP3 here, once I use up what I have in ttsx I will get a box to compliment the 10 an go get em

how was your experience on game?

I used the Federal round with Nosler Partition when I first bought the gun but they didn't group well so I tried the regular Winchester soft points which grouped well and I did take a bull moose with that round at 220 yards or so and he only went 10 yards, worked well. I looked at the numbers for the XP3 and saw it was a little more powerful and they grouped well but have only shot coyotes with that round as I haven't been moose hunting as much as I would like. I am off to Quebec in October for a moose hunt and would like a replacement round seeing as I am getting low on the XP3's. I will probably just go back to the old soft points made by Winchester.
I will have a look for the Accubonds, thanks for the response.

This. I'm going to assume that you already have brass.
