I'm hoping someone here can help me, I'm wondering if anyone knows the bore size of the new Win highwalls in 38-55. I am extremely computer challenged and do not know how to go about finding this out.:confused:

Well I answered my own question by calling Winchester Cust service, they even answered the phone and informed me it is .379 groove dia. So it is an honest 38-55 in every way.

I have a 38-55 M94 "Legendary Frontiersman" built circa 1980. It's groove diameter is .3776"

I have shot Barnes original .377" Jacketed SP bullet with very fine success.
Even the 255 grain Barnes SP for the 375 Winchester [.375" dia] shoots well in my rifle.

However, when shooting cast, I need at least .379" to shoot well, with .380" being the best of all.

You should "slug" the bore of your highwall, Douglas, just so you know exactly what that groove diameter is.

You can bet I will Eagleye, if I ever get my hands on it, it's been on order now for over 3 months.
