bought after CFO was closed last night, still had my ATT by 9am I love Alberta :D

Range cherry busting tomorrow, report to follow.

Para Ord PCX745E aka 1911 LTC (Steel, commander size), single action only. A big brother (not THAT big, probably weighs less lol) for my CZ SP-01 Shadow.

Fit and finish seem really good and tight. First time reassembling, well, maybe I won't tell the whole story other than that I lost both the spring and spring bushing multiple times but, hey, all's well that ends well

Comes with a nice heavy duty case, unfortunately gun with combo trigger lock doesn't fit

I've read all the fit n finish/functionality concerns but they mostly don't seem to apply to this size/model. Hopefully that holds true for this pistol. Have 200 WWB and 50 Win JHP (all 230gr) to run thru it tomorrow.

very nice pistol indeed.
i also had one of those pistols, i found and im sure you will too, that the finish doesnt hold up, and it scratches VERY easily. i fired 100 rounds through mine, and sold it, as it was just too friggin hard to reassemble every time, what with the stupid barrel bushing wrench..... i decided to trade it for a glock.

Nice gun. I hate those 'fit' pistol cases too, you can't use them to transport the gun. My kimber came with an open case with foam in it, I use that for handgun transporting now as I can fit two handguns in it. I've seen pretty much the same cases available at music stores too, for guitar effects pedals and such.

It is a NICE piece, man! My SSP is its full length "bigger brother". I found that peening of the slide stop notch and non-durable finish to be minor irritants. Accuracy and feel were decent, though. I hope yours is durable.

Very nice pistol. I've handled a couple and have always been tempted to take one home. Now that you're in the 1911 club you can look at other shooters with 9's and 40's and comment on how that's a "nice little gun" they've got. You'll also have to become good at scouring the range for every last piece of 45 brass, most 45 shooters walk a grid pattern so they won't miss a single piece of the 'sacred brass'. Yes, you will become opinionated, but then, who cares - if they don't get it, they're probably shooting "nice little guns" instead of serious pistols. :D

o---o

I have to align the sites about like that, as opposed to

o o o

to have it shoot the correct elevation. Side to side is bang on (PUN!) but the sites are only adjustable side to side.

Thought I was pushing/flinching a bit, so I did 3 things:

-shot my 9mm, elevation was about where it should be maybe a hair low, not 1' at 25m
-had someone else shoot the gun. Not someone I know well, or for whom I can vouch for marksmanship, but anyways he shot it low too
-shot from a rest. Low

Beyond that, it FEELS great, 100% function/cycling in 100 rds (saved some for later in the long weekend). Haven't done a post-range strip down yet, so no report on internals yet. Brass did seem to be suffering from pretty substantial blow by marking.
