my new 457 mtr showed up and I tried to load it up with a-zoom dummy rounds at home. (which work in my 10/22)

it feeds and extracts when moving the bolt back and forth but I can't lock the bolt down. I locked it once with force and then I had to ram the round out with a cleaning rod. it would not extract that round once locked up.

it locks up fine with no round in.

is this a bad chamber?

or is the match chamber too tight for the dummy rounds but a softer lead round would be ok? can't try at home...

ok. I pulled a bullet and powder out of a round and it closed fine on an empty shell. guess I'll just have to try at the range. still waiting on the optic.

You'll find it tight with live ammo too.
Nothing wrong...

Nailed it my 457 LRP has the same action and it is tight when chambering a live round. It's a nice positive lock when you close the bolt on a round and you will get use to ,it avoid copper coated rounds like federal they will foul up the bore quickly. I feed mine sk standard plus and cci standard velocity no issue at all , enjoy the new CZ I think you will be surprised about accuracy I was

MTR has a tight match chamber. Bullet is actually engaging the rifling when you close the bolt. I wouldn’t force dummy rounds into it as you are literally forcing them into the rifling. Nice soft lead only.

My 457 MTR doesn't like any CCI ammo
and chambers high grade ammo quite firmly.

[If you chamber any ammo then extract them
it will show the rifling on the bullet ./I]
