New 6.5x284 Lapua Brass issues

Anyone else have any issues with new brass in 6.5x284 from Lapua?

I will let you know once I receive my firearm from Cooper. Did this brass come right from the box or did you once fire it?

straight from the box. I necked up the 100 pieces. These were messed up before but I necked them anyways. The rounded bottom one really surprised me. Looks like it has been ground. The smoooch stuff is from tumbling off the sizing lube. Didn't get it all off and I need to change out my media. It's not powder residue.

I had heard of Lapua having some issue, however; it was regarding the inconsistency of the weight which was brought up with target/long range shooters. I would contact the retailer and advised them of your situation...........they should re-emburse you for your loss. The 50 brass that I purchased is most consistant in weight, etc.

It has been all taken care of and the retailer and Lapua went above and beyond my expectations. These just seems way out of normal for Lapua. All the other calibers I have purchased have been perfect. Took me by surprise and I would say I just had the back luck of a bad run.

Did you weight sort it? I had a sealed box of 100 of which 17 were a complete disaster. Worse than your picture shows. The shoulders had gashes the size of your dents. Brass was purchased from Paul Reibin. When Paul found out how bad it was he had me return it and it was replaced. No troubles since.

Any manufacturer can have a bad day, how they look after problems is more important than perfection.

as I said, the retailer and Lapua went beyond my expectations to fix the problem and please, do not think that I am calling into question the quality of lapua brass.

I was simply wondering if anyone had similar problems. I have Lapua brass in 4 other calibers and will continue to buy it.

I bought my first box of Lapua .308 Win brass last week.
I found that 65% of the brass fell within a 0.5 gr window and the extreme spread was 1.1 gr.
Not too shabby in my book.
