Well after 6 months of BS from the getting into this hobby, I have been to the range a few times now and I am really enjoying it.

I have put 300 rounds through my new S&W M&P 9mm and love the gun. I am a glock guy for work purposes so figured what the heck and picked up a LEO deal on a new G17 gen4. Love the feel of it. I may also add the beaver tail to it.

the G17 came to 560.00 taxes in so I am pleased with the price.

I am finally happy about all of this. It was a tough go but now I'm on the easy street. Can't wait to shoot the G17.

Quick question when I went to pick it up it was factory installed NY 1 spring?? Something about an 8 lb trigger pull and they switched it there to a 5 lb. what's up with that? I really don't understand that. They said they set it like my work issued for me.

NY 1 springs are used to increase the felt weight of the trigger pull from the original 5.5 to 8lbs, they're pretty standard on LE Glocks - if your boss really hates you, (s)he can specify NY 2 - that would give you a delightful 12 lb. trigger pull. Most of the cool kids run a 3lb connector with an NY1 spring, the idea is that it gives a better feeling 4-5lb. trigger. To be honest, if you get a 5.5lb trigger, all a Glock really needs is a decent set of sights, even the factory night sights are OK.
