Hello!
I am Kazeyama, an American citizen who visited Canada for the first time two weeks ago to attend a CFSC and CRFSC.
I plan to get an RPAL so I can bring along my M1 Garand to Canada during vacation for my friends to try out, and the RPAL will be more convenient to use than the $25 temporary pass that would be the alternative.
My Canadian instructor and classmates during the CFSC seemed optimistic about the coming year bringing a better environment in general for Canadian firearm enjoyers, but that was before the big news earlier this week. I do hope things get better for ya'll up there.
Almost as a hobby, I've been reading up on the various American and Canadian laws and regulations that would affect my planned Garand trip. I'm not a lawyer, but you almost have to be one to enjoy this stuff, or work in the industry.
