I've got a number of Orlite mags that I've had since the mid 80's. They've had thousands of rounds through them and still work great. The feed lips are metal re-enforced with a mesh that's embedded into the plastic and have never broken off or been damaged. Granted, most of the time they've been used on the range. For some reason, I never treat them as carefully as my aluminum mags, go figure
I still remember the first time I saw the C7 with the thermold mags while I was in Germany in '87, one of the guys seated the mag a bit too hard I guess and 30 live rounds came flying out of the ejection port. Needless to say we were not too impressed with the new rifle at that time. Still kind of leary of "plastic" mags due to that experience.

With the advances made in plastics I really don't see how this mag will be as bad as the Thermolds. You guys don't seem to complain about plastic stocks and handguns.
Because unlike Thermold (who uses recycled margarine tubs not pop bottles
) polymer pistols are made out of quality material. And in the critical / high stress areas the frames are often reinforced with metal , overlayed with the polymer material. Unlike this crap on the TR courses last May in BC (NOT my mags BTW) which as you can imagine caused some issues......
Apart from this happening the Thermolds were also famous for flying apart when dropped if they were loaded at all. Pure garbage. No other word for it.
