Is there a ruling on the AR pistol mag capacity yet?

Nothing final yet. The issue is the magazine itself. We are waiting on the first production units to be completed and then we will submit those for a final determination. Since they are being made from newly designed dies; built specifically for LAR-15 pistols; and will be stamped accordingly, they should meet the criteria required to allow them to be used with a 10 round capacity.

We're expecting another 10 weeks before we get those final production units here for submission to CFC/RCMP.

Do LMT uppers come with Bolt/Carrier Group ready to go?

LMT sells their uppers WITHOUT the bolt carrier group, charging handle and handguard. We offer both their standard bolt and carrier; their standard bolt with enhanced carrier; and their enhanced bolt and carrier.

The enhanced bolt/carrier combination is not for use in their 10.5" uppers but works fabulously in the 14.5" to 18" guns.

Is limiting m16 Carrier sales to LE/Mil only an LMT policy?

Nothing to do with LMT... in the US they will sell you M16 parts. The limiting factor is US law. Any part of a full-auto M16 (bolt, trigger, etc.) is considered CLASS III and controlled under the NFA (National Firearms Act) in the US. Possession of a full-auto bolt without having a Class III licensed can get you a felony charge in the US.

As for our sale of certain LMT components, that is a function of the export permit approvals and getting export permit approvals for Class III items is very difficult except for police and military end-users.

M16 bolts, bolt carriers and bolt carrier groups are not difficult to get here in Canada.

Hi Mark,

I'm possibly interested in picking up a 10.5" barrel or complete upper. I was wondering why the enhanced bolt & carrier combo isn't recommended for use in the 10.5" versions?

What combos does LMT recommend for the 10.5" barreled ARs?...or would it make more sense to start looking for an M-16 bolt privately?

The upper assemblies you advertise, they do include the barrel correct, or do you have to purchase that separately as well as handgrips, assuming you don't opt for an MRP? Thanks for your time!:)

The enhanced bolt works great with any of the barrels, it is the enhanced carrier that is not recommended for use with the 10.5" barrel. There's no problem using an enhanced bolt with standard carrier on a 10.5" barrel.

The main feature of the enhanced carrier is that it has increased dwell timing, which delays the unlocking of the bolt and allows a bit more time for the chamber pressures to reduce... this dramatically improves extraction and eliminates most of the extraction issues that were common on M16/AR-15 rifles.

I have used both the standard S/A bolt carrier group and the enhanced bolt w/Standard carrier on all variations of the 10.5" barrel (M4 upper and the CQB MRP upper)... both worked great.

The regular uppers include the barrel, front sight post, flash suppressor, port door, forward assist, etc. The do not include the bolt carrier group, charging handle or handguards.

The MRP and the CQB MRP come with 1 barrel, T-30 wrench for barrel change, 3 rail panels... they do not include the bolt carrier group or charging handle.

We don't carry Bushmaster uppers... but we do carry the LMT line including their 14.5" Upper (1:7, Chrome Lined, M4 Feed Ramps, etc).

We also carry the Rock River Arms 7" and 10.5" Uppers (both A2's and A4's).
