After about 500 rounds of load testing on the original Stag barrel I gave up. I was hoping to get a consistent 1.5 minutes but never got it and about half went into 2 min. I was going to put the Stag on the EE cause my Norc M14 shoots as well, but decided to try another barrel. I watched the Utube vids about IBI barrel makers and was impressed with the honest presentation. I also like that IBI is a up and coming small Canadian barrel maker and local in Chilliwack, so I ordered the 4 lb.heavy DMR barrel in .308. Communication was excellent with Ryan and he went out of his way to install the barrel and didn't charge me, even though I asked to be charged several times. With the new barrel installed , the rifle with scope and mag (empty) weighed out at 11.4 lbs empty. At the range I was absolutely shocked at the results.!(no I am not a shill, a brother in law or have a stake in IBI). I bore sighted the rifle at 100 yds. Then fired about 15 rounds to let it foul up and wear in a bit. This is a hunting gun so I fire 3 or 4 shots out of the mag to sight in, leaving the last round(usually a slight flyer) in the mag. The first three shots for groups in the black were .60 CtoC. I adjusted the scope(4x12 Leupold) and the next 4 shots went into .65" C to C. I adjusted the scope again to correct the aim and fired 4 more shots at 200m. Got 4 into .89". The wind started up and I called it quits. The target plasters on the splatter target gives you an idea what the rifle shot like with the stock barrel - about 4" at 200m. Yeah, the .89 group at 200m. may be a fluke. I expected to see about 2 min. At the least my 3 shot groups at 100yds have been reduced at least in half and no flyers. Excellent accuracy for a .308 AR10 and a lot of stock bolt guns. IBI is making really good barrels, well worth the price. I will buy more barrels from them!
