new barrel on old Rem. 1100 ?

Can anyone tell me if the new 1100 barrels from Remington will fit an 1100 from the late 1960's. I would like to get a smooth bore deer barrel with sights. Thanks for any info or suggestions.

Don't you want a rifled slug barrel? I could be wrong...

I want to shoot slugs not sabots, the way I understand it you want a smoothbore for that.

The barrel should fit fine. I have a new (2003) manufacture 1100 barrel on my late 70's 1100, and there is no issue.

Thanks Canucklehead, Hastings lists barrells that "fit all 1100's" so I think you are right.
