hey all just bought an SKS for my local gun shop. it was cherry picked by the owner (for himself). it was the last one and wasn't on display. now, i went ahead and bought it. when at home i disassembled the gun. there are some markings on the barrel. it doesn't look old; it looks like something from the 1990/2000, the lettering and such are from no doubt NOT from the 50's.(looks like laser printing; not punched) i will try to post a pic later for you guys to know what i'm talking about.

anybody else with something similar?

Your SKS is a Molot export apparently just before the Russian sanctions. It was proofed in 2014. The barrel could be new in a sense it was not shot. Not necessarily that it was made very recently. Most of the refurbished Russian SKS's have "virgin" barrels with excellent chrome rifling. The only thing which I don't like is that "barbecue" paint. But it's a shooter anyway.
O П-CKC - охотничье-промысловый ("commercial hunting (carbine)) - SKS
B П- Вятско-Полянский машиностроительный завод «Молот»- Vyatsko-Polansky Molot machine work plant - symbol of the Molot plant
CIP/N- a mandatory proof mark
ГИС - Государственная Испытательная Станция (State Proof Station) 14 which means "2014"

yes it's a shooter. bought it for 229 tx in. (good price for where i live)
thanks a lot for the infos. thats exactly what i was looking for. i owe you a beer! MERCI !
