Just picked up a new stock for my still relatively new (fired 60 rounds) Rem700. My initial impressions and some specs:

- "Old" HS precision stock weighed in at 2.16 lbs (980 g)
- New Bell & Carlson stock a whopping 5.04 lbs. (2.285 kg)
- Easy screw in installation with the aluminum bedding chassis
- Three way adjustable butt assembly (LOP/cant/height) (LOP range 46mm)
- Adjustable cheek piece (range 34mm)
- Butt plate has a Pachmayr recoil pad that adjusts up and down on an aluminum plate
- Integral aluminum fore end rail
- Whole gun/stock/bipod 15.43 lbs. (HEAVY!)

I always had the impression that Bell & Carlson were a relatively cheap aftermarket stock. Not anymore, I would easily rate it on par with HS Precision. Installation was a breeze, everything fit nice and snug. I liked the vertical grip angle. Still debating on weather to keep the old stock, it has it's appeal, has less 'stuff' to mess with and is lighter to carry around.

I also installed the 2 round mag extender from Brownells. Again it was easy to install and aside from the extra two rounds it also makes the guns look a little cooler and a cheaper alternative to a mag conversion for $18US.

SumB*tch, here I thought I was special, it is the same stock as on the Weatherby! They retail in the US for around $400.

Sorry this is kinda off topic, but did you paint your HS stock? I'm usually not a fan of glossy paint, but that's a reall nice looking piece of work.

I'm going to have to keep an eye on my gun next time you're around lest it come home neked!

Rohan, I painted it with the camo paint from Can. Tire. I used Sherwin Williams automotive clear coat on top. It only comes semi-gloss, but as a rule with paint the glossier it is the harder and more durable. It's not actually that bad since the stock has truck bedliner for texture so it's not glossy looking. IF you keep twisting my arm I might sell it.:)

How much? Or we could do a simple trade...I could trade you my spiffy black stock for your ugly camo stock .
500lbs of biltong and you have yourself a deal.

Hahaha holy hell, that's asking for quite a bit.
How about: 2lb of biltong, my spiffy black stock and some...Rem Oil! Or I could just get someone to paint mine...

B&C does not ship to Canada.
However according to them it can be obtained from: WSS, Brownells, Aftermarket Innovations.
FYI - there is no LH version of this stock.

FWIW I was going to order one direct from the B&C factory. I wanted to know if these stocks were fully inletted for a BDL action and talked to some very helpful lady. She claims that yes they are fully a drop in product and that she had no problem shipping to Canada. Maybe she wasn't in the shipping department ....I don't know. I am pretty sure that ### can get them and they hover between $300 for the Hunter stocks, $425 for the Medalist (A-2 clone) and about $600 for this new Tactical. I am thinking about one of these for my next project.
