Hello Shooters,
I would like to announce the release of my new book:
"Applied Ballistics For Long Range Shooting"
As an avid shooter and student of ballistics, I’ve always wanted to write a book that explains the complex elements of ballistics in my own words. However, simply re-wording information wasn’t good enough. I wanted to make an original contribution to the shooting sports.
How many times have we heard it said that: “Someone needs to test all these bullets from the different brands so we can compare apples-to-apples”? This call for independent testing is what I set out to answer. I began the development of my procedure and equipment for testing BCs over 2 years ago, long before I became the Chief Ballistician for Berger Bullets. The method I developed to measure BCs for all 175 of the bullets in this book is accurate (repeatable) within +/- 1%, and is the same method I use to measure Berger’s BCs today.
The book has 3 major parts.
Part 1 is a discussion of what I call “The Elements” of external ballistics. This part has an entire chapter on each of the important fundamental aspects of ballistics including: ballistic coefficient (BC), gravity drop, wind deflection, uphill/downhill shooting, gyroscopic (spin) drift, coriolis effect, ballistics programs, sights, and bullet stability.
Part 2 presents some examples of how to use the elements of ballistics to perform meaningful analysis for various applications including: target shooting (prone, F-class and Benchrest), tactical shooting, and long range hunting with lethality and probability of hit analysis.
Part 3 presents my original contribution to the shooting sports: ballistic test data (drag and BCs) for over 175 long range bullets from .22 to .338 caliber from all major brands.
Applied Ballistics for Long Range shooting comes with a CD containing a modern ballistics program. Chapter 5 presents an experiment where the program is used with G7 BCs to predict trajectories that match actual drop to within 1” at 1000 yards for two different calibers.
The books are available for immediate shipment. You can order via (FRAUD ALERT) or check from my website.
You can watch a short video review on YouTube at this link.
Take care,
-Bryan
