New Book: "Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting"

Got my copy for Christmas too. I've been flipping through the pages and I can't wait to start reading it. Unfortunately I think it will have to wait until the summer when school is out. Being a third year engineering student dpesn't leave me with much time. :(

I love how you included all the data tables for for each bullet in the back Bryan rely puts everything into perspective. Thanks alot for a great book.

Thanks to Mystic player - my girlfriend came to me about a week and a half ago and said that she couldn't`t get what I had wanted for xmas, and wanted other ideas. I had just read about the book on here and on Longrangehunting, and gave here your website. Shipped in 1 day, wrapped up and in my happy hands for Christmas.

I am glad the elves got it to you ontime.

Lots of info and when you start pushing the distances, more and more of the book starts making sense.

Switching shooters over to the G7 protocol will be easy - Manf will just list these values and shooters will adapt.

Having the manf change, that is a whole different story. The differences between G7 BC's will be quite small and the number itself will look small so not very impressive in print.

As shooters get used to shooting beyond 300yds and info in the book become more commonly used, the marketing will change accordingly.

As manf get better at testing their bullets to produce accurate BC values, all of these wonderful ballistics program will work better.

That should drive new bullet designs which will help us all.

Just got mine too - haven't really read it yet but really looking forward to it. Thanks to Jerry too for the super fast service and shipping. Great holiday reading! Thanks again!

I just flipped through mine for a few hours. A lot of work went in to this book. I think it is certainly worth getting, and I haven't even put the ballistics cd in the computer yet.

And Thanx for getting it out to me so quickly Mystic!

I got my copy from Jerry about a week or so ago, and have read a good portion of it. A lot of very valuable information contained therein. I like the idea of comparison of BC's using the G7 system. It would seem that it makes a lot more sense and gives a better platform to compare various bullets. Regards, Eagleye.

One thing I'd like to know before ordering my copy is what are the calibers you're covering.

The book (I really like my copy!) is particularly oriented towards typical long range match bullets from .224" to .338". In addition to being a good ballistics book, it also includes a comprehensive set of actual test data, all done on an apples-to-apples basis (in my opinion, this alone is worth getting the book for).
